Caffè crema
A caffè crema takes 1 minute and 9 to 10 g of FREDDO Espresso, ground a little coarser than for espresso. Unlike an americano, all of the water runs through the coffee: 120 to 150 ml in 30 to 40 seconds, or the caffè crema button on a bean-to-cup machine. The result is a large, mild coffee with a light, fine crema on top.

Tips and variations
Caffè crema or americano?
For a caffè crema all of the water runs through the coffee, for an americano hot water is added to a finished espresso. That makes the caffè crema softer and the americano more strongly espresso.
What if the caffè crema tastes bitter?
Grind coarser: if the caffè crema runs longer than 40 seconds or tastes bitter, set the grinder coarser. If it is thin and sour, a little finer.
Can I make caffè crema with a portafilter machine?
Yes, with a larger basket and a coarser grind. On a portafilter machine, though, a large coffee is easier as an americano.
